Legal
Employer Terms
The additional terms for employer and mentor accounts. Most of this page exists to protect students, many of whom are minors. Effective August 20, 2026.
what an employer account is
An employer account lets a verified organization post genuine roles, work-based learning placements, co-ops, and internships, and see reduced candidate profiles for students who have opted in. These terms apply in addition to our Terms of Service. By creating or using an employer account you accept both.
verification first
We verify every employer before any student sees a posting: legal entity, contact identity, and the genuineness of the roles posted. We may re-verify at any time and remove access without notice where verification fails. Posting fabricated roles, collecting applications for roles that do not exist, or misrepresenting your organization ends the account.
what you can see, and what you cannot
Employers see reduced profiles only, and only for students who opted in: first name and last initial, skills, portfolio items the student chose to share, and readiness signals. Employers never see contact details, grades, education records, journal entries, assessment responses, or a student's school, and never see any profile for a student who has not opted in. Under-13 users have no employer visibility at all.
protections for minors
Many opted-in users are under 18. You must not attempt to identify a minor, infer their identity from profile details, or contact them outside the platform's flows. Contact information is exchanged only on mutual consent through the platform, and the platform deliberately has no direct messaging to students. Where a school governs the student's account, the school's agreement and consent settings control what you can see, and school-linked placements run through the school.
your data obligations
Anything you learn about a candidate through Gigsup may be used only to evaluate that candidate for the role they engaged with. You must not scrape, export, aggregate, resell, or retain candidate information beyond the hiring decision, must not add candidates to marketing lists, and must delete candidate information when the role closes or on our request. If you are subject to employment or human-rights law obligations in your jurisdiction, those are yours to meet; Gigsup's matching signals are guidance, not a hiring decision.
conduct and enforcement
No discrimination in postings or selection on grounds protected by law. No fees charged to students, ever. No requests for personal contact, social accounts, or off-platform interviews before mutual consent is exchanged. We monitor for misuse, we act on student and school reports, and we remove any employer that makes the platform worse for students. Where conduct may endanger a minor, we notify the school where one is involved and the authorities where the law requires.
