Career guidance has been graded on vibes for a hundred years. A quiz, a pamphlet, a firm handshake, good luck out there. We think a claim nobody measures is just a slogan, so this page is our scoreboard: what improves for students, parents and schools, the exact metric behind each claim, and where that metric is tracked live inside the product.

what improves for students
The job of the product is simple to say and hard to do: take a student from "no idea" to a named direction with evidence behind it. Every metric below measures a step in that journey, against the student's own baseline, never against a leaderboard.
From "no idea" to a named, evidenced direction
Clarity is not a feeling, it is a sequence of concrete steps: an assessment taken, matches saved with reasons, a goal named, a plan built, reflection still happening. We score the sequence, not the vibe.
How we track it: a clarity score (0 to 100) composed from VISI snapshots, saved matches, a chosen goal, a live plan and recent journaling. Recomputed on every visit.

Most students choose from the handful of careers they have seen on TV. Breadth means the shortlist was earned by comparison, so the final choice can survive contact with reality.
How we track it: careers genuinely explored and saved in the Match deck, plus Aptitude Lab modules completed, measured ability rather than self-description.
Student appPlans that move instead of documents that get filed
The graveyard of career education is the beautiful plan nobody opened again. We measure whether the plan is alive: recent activity, and whether this week's first step actually happened.
How we track it: active days in the last 30 (from the event spine, real actions only) and the current plan's first step, held up where the student sees it.
Student appOn track against their own jurisdiction's requirement
Every province and state defines career readiness differently. The metric that matters is the one the student will actually be graded on where they live, plus the Gigsup Baseline on top.
How we track it: percent of the applicable readiness checklist complete, from our 64-jurisdiction requirement database, inferred from the record and tickable by hand.

By graduation a student should hold receipts: artifacts, verified hours, measured aptitudes, accomplishments with dates. Evidence is what turns "I'm a hard worker" into a citation.
How we track it: portfolio artifacts, logged accomplishments, skills, certificates and total activity hours, counted live from the career wallet.

Parents get visibility without surveillance. You see momentum, milestones and deadlines. You never see the journal, and that boundary is deliberate: it is what keeps teenagers honest inside the product, and honest reflection is what makes the guidance good.
You can see the journey happening, not just hope it is
Six milestones mark the road: assessment taken, careers saved, goal named, plan built, first application tracked, brag sheet started. No nagging required to find out which ones are done.
How we track it: a live milestone checklist in the parent portal, computed from the record and gated by your student's consent toggle.

The worst family fights of senior year are logistics wearing a costume. When every deadline is visible with a days-left countdown, the ambush disappears and so does the fight.
How we track it: upcoming application deadlines with countdowns, and the submitted-on-time record, straight from the application tracker.
Parent portalTalk about the plan, not "have you thought about your future"
That question has never once worked. The portal hands you a specific, current prompt drawn from what your student is actually working on, so dinner conversation starts somewhere real.
How we track it: a weekly conversation prompt in the portal, plus the last and next counselor meeting so the three-way loop stays closed.
Parent portalDecisions grounded in evidence, not the loudest opinion at dinner
Every match your student saves shows the elements it matched on, both sides scored, source named. When you ask "why marine biology", there is an actual answer to read together.
How we track it: every saved match carries its evidence trail (VISI, journal themes, measured aptitudes), visible in the portal's career match section.

The goal is a student who runs their own exploration. You get the signal that it is happening, as a count of active days, without reading over their shoulder.
How we track it: active days in the last 30 and journal months as counts only. We show you how present they are, never what they wrote.

Schools carry a mandate: documented career readiness for every student, not just the ones who book appointments. These metrics roll up per cohort on the counselor analytics board, filterable by grade, refreshed live.
Evidence against the graduation requirement, not binders
BC requires 30+ documented career-life exploration hours; 42 US states mandate an individual career plan. Coverage means every student is accumulating evidence against their requirement.
How we track it: average readiness completion across the cohort, and the percent of students on track (60%+ of their applicable checklist done).

Completion is table stakes. The number we are prouder of is the retake rate, because a profile that gets refreshed is a profile the student still believes in.

Counselor time flows to whoever shows up. The students who never show up are the reason the mandate exists. Quiet students get surfaced by name before they become seniors with no plan.
How we track it: percent of the cohort active this month, and a named list of students with nothing tracked in three weeks or more.

Enrolled, assessed, exploring, goal set, plan built, application started. When grade ten piles up at "assessed" you know precisely what next month's class time is for.

Pre-meeting briefs assemble themselves from the record. Rec letters start from a draft. Flags queue the students who need a human first. The counselor does the human part.

The year ends with proof points, not impressions: applications submitted and accepted, job applications, mentor introductions. Alumni reporting becomes a view instead of a survey.

Four mechanisms, all already running in the product. No survey monkeys were harmed, or hired.
The event spine
Every meaningful action, an assessment finished, a career saved, a plan built, an application tracked, lands as one event in one stream. Metrics are computed from what students actually did, never from what anyone remembered doing on a form.
VISI as a longitudinal instrument
Snapshots accumulate across years, so improvement is measured against the student's own baseline. Clarity at sixteen is only meaningful compared to the same student at fourteen, which is a comparison one-shot quizzes cannot make by design.
The readiness engine
All 64 US and Canadian jurisdictions mapped: each framework's checklist, verified sources, and the Gigsup Baseline layered on top. Readiness is checklist items done over items applicable, inferred from the record where we can and tickable where we cannot.
One engine, three dashboards
Students see their metrics in the app, parents in the parent portal, schools on the counselor analytics board. All three read the same outcomes engine, so the number a parent sees is the number the school sees is the number on this page. No drift, no spin.
